There are plenty of dog parks in Melbourne that will welcome you and your dogs with open arms especially in Berwick and surrounding areas. These parks are dog friendly with open parklands, lakes and playgrounds giving dogs and their owners the best experience when walking and being outdoors.
So if you’re not busy one Sunday morning and the sun is shining, go and take a walk through one of these parks with your furry friends and enjoy the serenity Melbourne has to offer.
1. Wilson Botanic Park, Berwick
Last week, we wrote an article about the top five things to do in Wilson Botanic Park, so we can’t give this one a miss when it comes to taking your dog. Wilson Botanic is known to attract local and international visitors. The park has many different walking tracks which you can choose from, for yourself and your dog to enjoy. It also has great spots for bird watching, picnics, BBQ’s and a huge playground for the kids.
2. Berwick Springs Park Promenade
Berwick Springs Park has a number of different lakes, one including an amazing water fountain. The park is a well-used community space with a variety of walking paths, playgrounds, picnic areas, fishing spots and more. It’s a very popular park to take your fur-baby for a walk, whether it’d be a small or big walk, you’ve got plenty of tracks to choose from.
3. Pioneers Park, Berwick
Pioneers Park is well-known for its big playground and kids area, as well as taking your dog for a nice stroll. Right next to it is a popular café called Primary on Pioneers Park which you can enjoy some yummy food whilst overlooking your children whilst they’re playing, and guess what? The café is pet friendly so it doesn’t cause too much trouble!
4. Buchanan Park, Berwick
Buchanan Park has two friendly playgrounds separated by a huge pond. It also includes a skate facility and picnic & BBQ setting. Great area for family and friends to catch up and have a dog play date.
5. Ray Bastin Reserve, Narre Warren
Ray Bastin Reserve provides an area for all different ages, including a functional children’s playground located next to a Skate Park and BMX track. The park has plenty of shaded areas to enjoy a nice BBQ meal with your friends and pets.
